Highlights on this tour: Church of St. Johann in the mountains, horses and cow pastures on the Winklmoos-Alm, star park, nostalgic chairlift, rest stops with children's playground, view of the Loferer Steinberge.From the starting point in Seegatterl, take the forest road to the left of the toll station in the direction of Winklmoos - Alm. After the first steep ascent, there is a short, flat passage before you climb the last few meters to the Winklmoos-Alm. Arrived at the Hochalm you are rewarded with the view of the Dürrnbachhorn, Steinplatte and the Loferer Steinberge. The tour leads back steeply down the forest road in the direction of Schwarzlofergraben past the mountain station of the gondola lift back to the Seegatterl starting point. Refreshment stops are available on the Winklmoos-Alm.
You should definitely take a ride on the nostalgic chair lift.
Coming from Munich or Salzburg on the Budesautobahn Munich - Salzburg (A8 to Grabenstätt exit no. 109), continue in the direction of Marquartstein and on the well-developed German Alpine Road (B305) to Reit im Winkl. At the entrance to the town (Entfelden) in the direction of Ruhpolding, approx. 5 km to the Seegatterl district. Car park: Seegatterl, 83242 Reit im Winkl. From Munich or Innsbruck on the federal autobhan Rosenheim - Innsbruck (A93) to Oberaudorf (exit no. 59), further to Walchsee, Kössen and Reit im Winkl. Continue on the B 305 to Ruhpolding, approx. 5 km to the Seegatterl district. Car park: Seegatterl, 83242 Reit im Winkl.
