All you need to know for your holidays...
Cycling in Reit im Winkl is always a matter of uphill and downhill, rarely flat. Hop on your mountain bike or e-bike and explore the mountains!
Signposted mountain bike routes and guided e-bike tours make planning your cycling holiday easy. Mountain lakes and cozy huts are popular destinations for a bike tour.
It is also climate-friendly to leave your car behind in the “bike and hike” variant and to get to the starting point of your hike by bike.
»Nothing compares to the simple joy of riding a bike.«
You will find that in Reit im Winkl it is rarely flat, it is always up and down. Apart from the streets, you will notice when cycling that you are rarely on asphalt. That is why choosing the right bike is crucial. Even a tar road like the one up to the Winklmoos-Alm has a 16% incline or decline - not only leg muscles or batteries have to withstand that, but especially the brakes!
City e-bike
It is only suitable for mostly flat and very easy routes, and solid road surfaces are necessary to be safe on the road. In Reit im Winkl there are very few opportunities for use, we recommend tours with a maximum of 100 meters in altitude. Be careful on steep slopes and slippery surfaces. Suggestions: tours to Walchsee, the village tour, via the direct cycle path via Seegatterl to lake Weitsee
E-MTB
For many holiday guests, this is the best solution for the mountains. Longer climbs and tours as well as "bike and hike" tours can be tackled without being too physically fit. The higher weight compared to the MTB is very exhausting on pushing and carrying routes!
Mountain bike MTB
Anyone who is in good shape and likes to get their pulse racing is well equipped with the MTB on all routes in the mountains around Reit im Winkl!
Gravel bike
Gravel bike riders: they can handle their bikes, but need relatively solid road surfaces. Therefore, only easy MTB tours on firm forest roads are safely feasible (without trail routes).
