One of the most popular destinations for a day trip from Reit im Winkl is Lake Chiemsee, about 30 km away.

A trip by steamer to Herreninsel island and a visit to Herrenchiemsee Castle are an unforgettable experience.

The boat ride continues, for example, to Fraueninsel island, which is also famous for its extraordinary Christmas market. The Chiemsee cycle path is a special experience for active people. On the approximately 60 km long, almost flat circuit, you will pass hidden bays and bathing areas, small towns and many places to stop for a break.

If your trip to Chiemsee lasts until the evening, don't miss the sunset, for example in Chieming or Übersee.

Around the lake you can rent bicycles, canoes, kayaks or boards for stand up paddling. On a clear day the maybe snow-covered Kampenwand appears very close, on other days the fog plunges everything into a mystical world of shadows. A walk along the shore is good for body and soul in all weathers and in all seasons.
