Tour description:
From the church we walk in a westerly direction along the Hausbachweg to the Tiroler Straße to Unterbichl. Where the road bends slightly to the right, the ascent begins on Unterbichler Straße.
Following the road we come directly along the border to the Kronbichler Chapel. A little further up we reach the hamlet of Oberbichl. We continue to Birnbach via a meadow path at the golf course.
The way back is below the houses on the left in a meadow path to the former Glapfhof. From here you have the choice of two ways home: right from the Glapfhof via Wiesenweg to the Festsaal or following the road after about 400 m branching off to the left via the Scheffelsteig, the viewing platform to the War Memorial Chapel and via the water lily pond back to town.
The view of the Kaiser Mountains will remain unforgettable.
Did you know that the Kronbichler Chapel is the oldest chapel in Reit im Winkl. During the restoration in 1964, simple peasant painting frescoes with the year 1694 were discovered. The chapel got its name from the Kronbichler property, which was mentioned in 1612 and is a listed building.
