Highlights of the tour: View of the village from Oberbichl and the Kaiser Mountains, Klausenbergalm, Klausenbach gorge
From the tourist information office head in the direction of the village center to the Oberbichl district, here past the Kronbichl chapel across the border to the Hotel Peternhof in Austria.
Behind the hotel, follow the road downhill to Kössen. You always have a view of the imposing Kaiser Mountains. In Kössen, turn left and follow the road past the white water rafting stations. Shortly afterwards right over the bridge and the hotel car park to the main street, cross this and follow the signs to Loferberg.
After a short ascent you ride about 800m on the main road until the signs "MTB-zum Straubinger Haus" turn left. Follow the signs to the first alpine meadow, here turn left towards Klausenbergalm/ Reit im Winkl. The forest road leads past the Klausenbach gorge down to Blindau.
When you arrive in Blindau, you continue back to the starting point. Here you can also choose the route over the Lofer floodplains.
Orientation text: This tour runs in the border region of Tyrol and is signposted by the tourism associations responsible there. After crossing the border, orientate yourself on the signs. Furthermore, we recommend a navigation device (cell phone, GPX device) and careful planning before the start of every tour!
Did you know that the Kronbichler Chapel is the oldest chapel in Reit im Winkl. During the restoration in 1964, simple peasant frescoes were discovered with the year 1694. The chapel got its name from the Kronbichler estate mentioned in 1612 and is a listed building.
Coming from Munich or Salzburg on the federal motorway Munich - Salzburg (A8 to Grabenstätt exit no. 109), continue in the direction of Marquartstein and on the well-developed German Alpine Road (B 305) to Reit im Winkl.
