All you need to know for your holidays...

Many hikes start right in the center of Reit im Winkl, for other activities you can use buses - sometimes even free of charge. For planning your holidays by using the hiking bus or local buses, you can download many timetables here.
Of course, some journeys are easier, faster, more comfortable by car: On this page you will find useful information about the Winklmoos toll road, the parking lots in Reit im Winkl and driving on highways (Autobahn) in Austria.

The easiest way from Reit im Winkl to Salzburg: the “Mozart Express” bus runs Tuesdays and Thursdays directly to Mirabellplatz in the Salzburg city center, completely relaxed without looking for a parking space or stressful navigation. Tickets are available when you get on the bus.
In winter: local bus
3 bus lines within Reit im Winkl, with which you can go to Blindau, Birnbach and the Benzeck ski area, for example. Free with the Reit im Winkl inklusiv Card Download timetable
In winter: ski bus
From various stops in Reit im Winkl to the valley station of the Seegatterl gondola. The bus is free and only for passengers of the Winklmoos-Alm gondola.

All year round: Shuttle to the Hindenburghütte / Hemmersuppenalm
The Hindenburghütte's private four-wheel drive minibus service takes you to the Hindenburghütte restaurant on the Hemmersuppenalm. The departure points are next to the Tourist Information on Frühlingsstraße and from the car park Fellhornweg in Blindau.
Depending on the season, the buses run every half hour from 9 am in the morning and every hour in the afternoon. Tickets are available on the bus, guests with the Reit im Winkl inklusiv Card pay a reduced price. You can take cross-country skis, sleds and strollers with you on the bus. All year round: regular bus services Regionalverkehr Oberbayern GmbH RVO
The RVO buses take you to Prien am Chiemsee, Traunstein, Ruhpolding, Inzell, Bad Reichenhall and the Winklmoos-Alm. In Austria, travel by Postbus to Kössen, Kufstein and Kitzbühel.

Check out special tickets and saver prices before departure, such as the RVO day ticket, the RVO bus pass, the Chiemgau day ticket or the Bavaria ticket. All tickets are available directly on the RVO bus.
In summer: hiking bus
The hiking bus takes you to trailheads for hikes in the Chiemgau Alps on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
From there you can plan numerous individual round tours, tours to other stops of the hiking bus or tours back to Reit im Winkl. The ride on the hiking bus is free with the Reit im Winkl inklusiv Card. Continue to the timetable and tour suggestions
Parking in Reit im Winkl: Guests with the Reit im Wink inklusiv Card can park for free at 5 municipal parking lots. All others please use the ticket machines (cash or German EC-cards) or the Parkster app.
Parking at the trail heads in Blindau/ Fellhornstraße, in Birnbach/ Birnbacher Straße as well as in Seegatterl and in the Three Lakes Area is mostly free of charge.
Toll road to the Winklmoos-Alm: In summer you can get to the Winklmoos-Alm via the approx. 6 km long, Winklmoos toll road. You pay the toll at the gate in the Seegatterl district. Guests with the Reit im Winkl inklusiv Card drive the road for free once a day. In winter the road is only open outside of the operating hours of the gondola. With the gondola you can reach the skiing, cross-country skiing or walking areas at Winklmoos-Alm during the day.
Trips to Austria: You need a "vignette" toll sticker for the highways in Austria, for example for a trip to Innsbruck. You do not need a vignette on other roads, for example to drive to Kitzbühel or Kufstein. You can buy your vignette at petrol stations in the region or online.
