The Unterberghorn is a prominent mountain that can be seen to the southwest of Reit im Winkl. Its summit is at 1,800 m. The gondola runs up to the Bärenhütte at 1500 m, in summer and in winter.
The visit is worthwhile in summer for hiking and paragliding, in winter the Hochkössen ski area awaits with 22 km of ski slopes. The panoramic view of the Kaiser Mountains is impressive at any time of the year.
