Tour description:

The lake circular route around Waginger and Tachinger See runs almost traffic-free through a beautiful natural and cultural landscape. The varied route runs in the water-rich foothills of the Alps, which gives the viewer beautiful lake views and impressive Alpine panoramas. Low population and traffic density without industrial settlement guarantees restful peace in healthy pre-alpine air. It is not for nothing that Waging am See has been awarded the status of a state health resort. Cyclists primarily benefit from the magnificent nature, the gently rolling landscape relief and the warm hospitality. The little brother of the Chiemsee Cycle Path: quieter, more contemplative, more original and a bit more comfortable and ideal for pleasure and leisure cyclists as well as families with children from the age of about 9 (depending on training), the section Waging - Petting is even suitable for small children. The route profile of the well-developed cycle path, which is signposted in both directions, has hardly any inclines. The few mini climbs are usually only about 10 hm. (Exception for lampoding). The route is suitable for all bikes. For racing cyclists or cyclists with children's trailers, we recommend avoiding asphalted side streets with little traffic on the east bank. The circumnavigation of the lake can be shortened from 30 km to 18 km by taking the pier near Tettenhausen and just circumnavigating the Waginger See. Refreshments: Along the way you will find a large number of inns and lakeside terraces.
