Tour description:

The starting point for the premium winter hiking trail is the Festsaal at the Cross-Country stadium.

The path, which runs almost without ascents in the valley floor, does not make any special demands on equipment and fitness. The path is continuously marked with hiking signs.

The hike allows beautiful views of the surrounding mountains as well as the not far away rock massif of the Kaiser Mountains in Tyrol, which is why the path also bears its name "Kaiserblick". The route close to the settlement allows a view of picturesque localities and individual buildings in the typical regional architectural style.

After a few hundred meters, the path leads into the picturesque alluvial forest, where - near the Grenzsteg bridge - you can enjoy a view of the wonderful stretches of the Lofer river. Alluvial forest and the course of the river are largely natural. All animal species of the region can be found here.

The hiking trail leads up the river, gently winding across fields to Groissenbach in Loferau. Crossing the German Alpine Road you reach Entfelden, from where the hiking route leads back to the village to the Cross-Country stadium via the Tourist Information Office.

Special features: The winter hiking trail meets the criteria of the German Hiking Seal and received the "Premium Winter Hiking Trail" certificate in 2011.

Tip: We recommend that you walk the path counter-clockwise.
