Tour description:
Recommended equipment: Stable and non-slip trail running shoes, hydration pack, change of clothing.
Running route: from the starting point, follow the signs “Premiumweg” via Ahornstraße to the steep path to Wetterkreuz (1061 m). From there you have a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and the town from above. We continue on narrow paths in westerly direction until just above the Hutzenalm (990 m). Here at the junction, follow the Almweg north of the signs Premiumweg "Chiemseeblick", after approx. 800 m turn left along the narrow path to the steep climb, which leads via wooden stairs to the Stoibenmöseralm (1273 m). The descent first follows the supply road east towards Glapfalm/Eckkapelle/Reit im Winkl via the Lieberg-Forsthütte and further towards Hausbachfallsteig (steep secured path) to Reit im Winkl.
If you still have enough reserves (and have packed your swimming gear), walk towards Lake Taubensee to the Sauermöseralm (approx. 500 m). Here follow the right path to Lake Taubensee and along the right bank of the lake until you go back towards Sauermöser/Stoibenmöser/Reit im Winkl. For this worthwhile "detour" you have to overcome an additional 100 meters of altitude and approximately 1 hour of running time.
From the direction of Munich or Salzburg on the federal motorway Munich - Salzburg (A8 to Grabenstätt exit no. 109), continue towards Marquartstein and on the well-developed German Alpenstrasse (B 305) to Reit im Winkl.
