My hobbies are skiing and e-biking. In winter there is nothing better than conquering the slopes and using the carving skis to make really deep furrows in the snow as if on rails.
As soon as the snow is gone and it is warmer again, the first thing to do is to circle Lake Chiemsee with the e-bike before heading into the mountains. My favorite tour is over Klausenberg to Straubinger Haus with a view of the Wilder Kaiser mountains and then enjoying the wonderful sunset with a cool drink.
The best view of Reit im Winkl, Unterberg and Wilder Kaiser is from the Wetterkreuz summit. There are many options and paths that lead to this magnificent viewpoint. But what is best and also an insider tip: these are the cool drinks available for self-service in the fountain at Glapfalm.
I don't know how often I've been to the Wetterkreuz, but it's always beautiful, and not to be forgotten: the Kaiserschmarrn and the bacon dumpling soup at the Hutzenalm.
"Unfortunately", I started golfing in June 2020 and have become addicted to it. The Reit im Winkl/ Kössen golf course is one of the most beautiful courses in the area, but also one of the most difficult (for me it definitely still is).
My worst case scenario is that the golf ball will land back on track 14 in the gorge. But as the saying goes: Practice makes perfect!
