Summit hike to Hochgern via Agergschwendalm and back via Jochbergalm. Long round tour for which you need a good level of fitness, but which is rewarded with grandiose views.

Hiking car park Hochgern - Agergschwendalm - Moaralm- Enzianhütte - Hochgernhaus - Hochgerngipfel - Grundbachalm - Hochsattel - Jochbergalm - hiking car park Hochgern
For this summit hike to Hochgern via Agergschwendalm and back via Jochbergalm you need a good level of fitness. You will be rewarded with wonderful views, from the Kaiser Mountains to the Chiemsee. We start at the hiking car park and walk on path no.5 via Agergschwendalm and Bergwachthütte to the Enzianhütte and the Hochgernhaus. Continue on a narrow mountain path to the 1744m high Hochgern summit. The descent via path no. 58 is only suitable for experienced people. From the summit cross back on the ridge and at the signpost on a narrow, steep serpentine path in a southerly direction down to the Grundbachalm and over the Hochsattel to the Jochbergalmen. After a rest, we go below the Jochbergalmen on path no. 52 through the Kaltenbachtal back to the starting point. The Hochgern summit offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Achental and Chiemsee. Marmots cavort on the meadow behind the Hochgernhaus and in the Grundbachalm area.
