Watch out, what you experience on this hike is unique. Pure nature. A special kind of alpine pasture area. Something for all the family.
Tour description:
What a great feeling to be pushed across lush alpine meadows in a pram, past animals that graze freely. A highlight for every family. Feel and taste ....... that's how nature smells on the Alm.
After visiting the very simple but beautiful Church of St. Johann im Gebirg, take the children's taxi for fun. Past the Sonnenalm, rustic alpine huts, horses and cows, we come to the pond, where you can really enjoy a picnic. The stream bed wants to be explored, there is a lot to marvel and see, feel and smell. Funny figures can be built from stones, if you want to jump into the Salzburger Land, it is so close ... eyes on you will discover it.
Back you follow the same path for a short distance, turn right after the Alm onto the road to the Traunsteiner Hütte junction and stroll comfortably over a field path to the hut. The Dürrnbachhornbahn is very close. You walk comfortably past the grazing cows along the hiking trail towards the Finsterbachalm. There is a lot to discover here, lush alpine meadows with happy cows, a rustic alpine hut that invites you to rest.
Strengthened and overjoyed and full of impressions of the beautiful nature, we march back to the Winklmoos-Alm. Take a break at the Chapel of the Assumption of Mary to contemplate and admire it. To get to the starting point, just follow the road to the Winklmoos-Alm car park.
If you don't want to go that far, don't turn right to the Finsterbachalm, but follow the road to the Dürrnbachhornalmen directly at the foot of the Dürrnbachhorn (drinks only)!
Tip: A trip on the nostalgic chairlift is a great experience for the whole family. Just park the stroller and go up to the mountain station (1610m). An unforgettable experience, unique the view and the panorama of the surrounding mountains, the great nature.
It is picturesquely set against the backdrop of the mighty Loferer Steinberge: our Chapel of the Assumption of Mary, built in 1905 . On August 15th of each year, it is the center of the celebrations for the Assumption of Mary.
