Our museum is the home of plenty of sacred and holy items, including:
- Figures and statues of saints
- Antique stout ratches used on Good Friday
- Votive offerings for the Way of the Cross
- Antique tunicles with elaborate gold stitching
… and much more
The exhibition has been created with lots of time and effort, much love and handcraft. The heart is the Holy Grave from the late 18th century with its colorful crystal balls. Up until 1960, this 7x7m piece has been regularly installed at the altar between Holy Thursday and Good Friday. Over time though, lots of Holy Graves have simply disappeared. Reit im Winkl is proud to still own and cherish one of those baroque treasures. Come see one of the largest and most elaborate pieces in all of Chiemgau.
Please check the event calender for opening hours. There are lots of visiting opportunities, especially during Easter. The entrance is free, all donations are fully forwarded to social institutes.
Museum tours include a short description of the church as well as a visit to the 100 year old clock tower and the Holy Grave. Further, you’ll find about 270 different exhibits, from elaborate tunicles to sacred items, banners and statues as well as loan collections from the crib society Inn/Salzbach.
Special tours (2 persons and up) are available daily at short notice, please contact Georg Beilhack at +49 8640 4399010.
Meeting point for all tours is the crib at St. Pankratius.
