The “German Hiking Trail Certification” makes the quality of a trail objectively measurable. An extensive list of criteria makes it possible to quantify the strengths and weaknesses of a hiking trail and does so objectively and precisely. It contains quality criteria for a comparable hiking infrastructure, which judges the trails, as well as the surrounding areas.

Reit im Winkl offers over 40km of well prepared winter trails in the valley and up above on Winklmoos Alm and Hemmersuppen Alm.

Further Premium Hiking Trail Projects:
The certification of the 1st Premium Winter Hiking Trail on the Hemmersuppen Alm marks the beginning in Reit im Winkl of what is to become a year-round hiking area with approx. 10 certified hiking trails.

How are the trails prepared?
Our complete winter hiking trail system leads you through winter scenery and stands out by providing packed snow. This packed snow makes for a solid, walkable surface.

Lengths of trails:
The hiking trails can easily be combined to distances of between 2 and 20 km.

Guided hikes:
There are regularly scheduled hikes on our winter wander trails.

Snowshoeing:
The local ski schools offer guided snowshoe hikes from December through April. Experience the Bavarian alps in a unique way regardless of your physical condition and without the dangers of ski touring.

Certification with the German Hiking Institute is scheduled for Winter 2009
