Natur preserve Weitsee
To good to be true? No!
Surrounded by mountains, the nature preserve Weitsee, Mittersee and Lödensee is situated in fairy-tale surroundings between the towns of Reit im Winkl and Ruhpolding.
The Weitsee is a natural lake with excellent water quality and it offers ideal swimming conditions for a great family outing.
How to get there:
By car – traveling on B 305, coming from Reit im Winkl and going toward Ruhpolding, the Weitsee is on the right-hand side of the road.
By bus – bus-stop Weitsee
By bike – from Reit im Winkl via Seegatterl it takes about 45 minutes. The bicycle path goes by the Dürrfeldkreuz and is an uphill ride starting at Seegatterl.
Parking:
There is parking available between Weitsee and Mittersee. From there the east end of the lake is a short distance by foot.
Opening season:
Depending on temperature and weather conditions, swimming is usually possible by late May/early June.

Free of charge
Food and Drink:
Bring a picnic, there are no concession stands or restaurants at the lake.
